Whew, we saw a few kids with ear problems yesterday. One had an infection despite having ear tubes which are supposed to help drain fluid. It was pretty mushy looking inside.
On review, we’re thinking maybe the kid outgrew his ear tubes since they weren’t in the tympanic membrane as they should have been. There was a green plug near the outer opening.
The other one thought she perforated her eardrum, but thankfully it was just a scrape on the side.
Who knew the otoscope, the one item no one wanted to buy in Physical Diagnosis, would be getting so much action?
